How does A/C work
When AC set at 65* if you pull out on thermostat should it blow colder than 65*? when I pull out on thermo it blows hot.
With thermo pushed in Temp outside is 70* compressor will not engage.
It is full of freon.
Any help Thank you.

As I rcall when max cool or max heat is dialed up, the system no longer looks at ambient/cabin temp.
Even if I'm not remembering correctly on that point, the pull-for-manual-control feature certainly defeats auto temp regulation.
As for the compressor not engaging....
Start with the easy stiff. Have you checked the fuses?
Cheers

Have you checked the thermal fuse? Its located in the rear of the compressor in contact with the suction side gas, whose pressure drops and temps rises with a low refrigerant charge. The thermal fuse is a sealed unit containing a heater and a meltable fuse.
There does seem to be a relay under the vacuum actuator motor.
You should invest in a service manual.
