Default How much for 94 XJS

Hello all,

I am looking at a black 94 xjs v 12, black with tan interior (my favorite) with 110K miles. It was recently on ebay with a starting bid of $6100. It recieved no bids and the owner has offered it to me for $5700.

It has the sunroof, new revolver wheels (comes with originals as well), new perilli tires.

The problem is that the car fax shows a accident in 2006. The owner tells me he can find no evidence of damage and that it must have been a minor accident. He also tells me the only item not functioning is the a/c.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Pete

take it from someone who has no AC in a V12. that freaking engine will cook you alive.

also i dont think the 94 is a 6.0 so thats not a selling point for me
not to mention hes askng cabriolet money for a hardtop.

Pete,
Sorry no advice from me, just info.
I picked up a black '94 V-12 (yes, 6 liter) (or litre) convertible with 94k on it this past spring. So far, I've had nothing but a great time with it. I am however, currently changing out pads, calipers and rotors on the front end. But I knew about those needing to go when I bought it. Otherwise, it runs cool, electronics work, body and interior are in great shape.
Anyway, $7250 for mine. Good luck, and let us know what you decide.
Bill

The late 6 liter cars are great! Reletively reliable, fast, fun, and look good too. If it's clean, and un molested, it will be a good car. Have someone look at it on a lift to make sure there are no frame or suspension issues from it's accident. That is the trouble with carfax, etc. It could have just been a little bump, but if it is reported it will be there forever.

I have a black '94 v12 coupe as well... I love it.

Just my 2 cents.

I keep an eye on ebay, craigslist, etc, just out of habit, and that price seems a little high for a car with over 100K miles, no a/c, and possible accident history. Sadly, it seems like the XJS prices are down and the same cars get relisted multiple times with bids not approaching the buy it now price

If you do buy it outside of ebay you don't get the protection if something goes wrong with the sale. But if you get a clean title and pick it up in person, there is probably little risk. The seller should be willing to give you a good discount for avoiding an ebay commission.

Good luck.
