Well, I went and pulled the trigger and bought this 91. Now I have to fight the need to drive her constantly and instead take some time to go over everything to make sure she's good to go. She's running and driving but I want to go over all the fuel lines, etc so I don't get any surprises. So far, only one oil dripping ares, which compared to my MG is amazing.
Looks gorgeous!! Well done. Good call on the replacing the rubber fuel lines. Tedious but well worth it not having an engine fire or fuel leak running out of gas at an inconvenient time and place. 30 year old car so you might consider a new fuel pump, sump tank filter. New radiator fluid and trans fluid might be worth doing at some point as well.
What color is the interior? Anything not work on the car?
I've only driven her around the block. Everything appears to work except for Dome Light inside. The exhaust smells like a gas station so maybe running rich for some reason. Gorgeous, I like the Red with the light tan interior. Very clean inside, and out. All I can say is fix a few little things as you mentioned, and enjoy. Wow, Very Nice.
Yeah that's probably not factory. That appears to be a fuel pressure regulator just below your hand in the picture? Can't tell for sure but it looks to have a hose connected to it, so not really sure where else it could go??? Good Luck.
Not sure they could have incorporated many more points of failure - would the pipe and device that you're thinking of be on one of these Greg ?
yes indeed, Ben. It will be one of the dump valve or switching valve pipes, I believe, or part of the cruise control safety dumping of the vac valve, if that one is not in this diagram!.
It is one of the cruise control parts. There were three connections on the blue piece in the picture. One air line went to the manifold on that side, one went no where (screw in end) and then the electrical connection to the cruise control bellows. As the cruise control was not working (switch not even connected in the car) I've removed it all and bagged it for future project.
