ignition wont work?
i had my 87 coupe running and then i went to go mess with a clogged gas
line in the back and at that moment my ignition decided to quit on me. i
replaced and upgraded the coils to two after market coils with 1.2 ohms
resistance which is more than enough (advised by an xjs friend who runs
the same setup) and im getting spart out of the coil when i crank it over,
so the amplifier is working but im not getting any spark out of the cap, ive
got a new cap but before i mess with anything id like to know what you
guys think.

If you are definitely getting a big blue spark out of the top of the coil, it sounds as if the HT is not getting to, or not getting through, the dizzy.
Might be worth ensuring all the obvious stuff is OK? eg Check the HT lead between the coil and the cap by pulling it off the cap and seeing if the spark comes out of the lead to earth. Then check the rotor arm inside the dizzy is OK, check the cap itself is Ok, particularly the centre graphite electrode. Then see if the HT spark is coming out of the plug leads when they are earthed.

the fuel pump and ecu are working fine, i got a new dizzy cap but the rotor checked out fine on resistance but my friend told me that sometimes they have flaws/imperfections that wont let them carry load well, (aftermarket part, dumb on my part) so im ordering a new rotor and im going to check the coil wire with a timing light to make sure its firing to the rotor if itsnot then i know they problem is the rotor.
