HI,PLEASE CAN YOU HELP, I POSTED A MESSAGE THE OTHER DAY AND I THINK I DID NOT MAKE MYSELF CLEAR, I HAVE A 5.3 1989 V12 ENGINE, IT IS OUT OF THE CAR AND I AM MAKING A ENGINE STAND FOR IT SO I CAN RUN IT ON A TEST BED.I AM WONDERING WHAT I NEED TO DO, OTHER THAN PETROL,OIL,WATER TO MAKE IT START AND RUN ON THE TEST BED,I HAVE THE WIREING LOOM ON IT BUT DO I NEED ANYTHING ELSE ,SUCH AS ELECTRONICS OR BOXES OR CAN I MAKE IT START WTH JUST FUEL ,OIL,AND WATER AND OF COURSE A BATTERY ,PLEASE HELP KIND REGARDS DAVID

 

heh bud. There would be heaps on here that can help, I'm not too sure myself. Change the title of your post from "info" to something more eye catching for example " Help! How do I get my engine to run on a test bed? What do I need?"

Something like that maybe. Post some pics too mate. I'm sure heaps of people would be interested to see the engine all laid out.

Firstly welcome aboard.

You will need a few items.

My thoughts very quickly are:

The EFI fuel pump, you will need proper fuel rail pressure. Then a fuel return line from the LH FPR.
The ECU/S. This sounds like a Marelli engine, so 2 ECU's, AND the related wiring/vac hoses etc.
Oil cooler connections.

The stand will need to secure that beast STRONGLY, as that engine will take off if all hell breaks loose.

I am bound to have forgetten a few things, but thats the basics so far.
