Jaguar making modern infotainments for our cars
I like that Jaguar is supporting our cars, and they are certainly aesthetically pleasing and complimentary to our cars ....and if they where up to 500 dollars, I would get one, but they are over 1000.00. That’s too much for what these system can do. At over 1k they would need to have Adroid and Applecarplay capabilities.

Problem with this is the price vs the technology they are offering. If this was 500, I would buy it because of how attractive it looks on the dash, but at over 1,250 dollars with no back up camera and no apple car play/android phone, it’s really not worth replacing my current Alpine CDE HD 149BT.

I agree. I buy all my parts now from JCP.

More than a bit.
Its three times what they should be charging, and even that would be twice what it’s worth! They’d get a bunch of us to buy it at $500, but in reality each and every buyer would have some remorse over the missing features that are found in head units that are, at best priced half of that!
I support the notion of patronizing anything still being made to support our cars, but this is too much to ask!

yes sir, and it’s the very same company that did this for Porsche Classic Division that it’s doing it for Jaguar. It’s just that at a cost of 1600.00 dollars I need it to have absolutely everything in that small package, and that it does not.

One of the many things i love about my XJS is it doesn't have any of that crap. My daily, the phone, soon the house (if the War Dept gets her way) has a ''voice' these days. l would say i would toss the smart phone, but that probably wouldnt be prudent, it has CAA om speed dial.

Mine is a daily driver and I can't even get the radio to work. But that is cool, I enjoy the engine song.
Never had the impulse to connect my phone to the Bluetooth in my Jeep and probably never will, I can always return the call later if I need to.
I’m quite happy to change the CD in the xj6 when I get sick of the one playing, Jeep has 20 gig of music on it’s hard drive and when I get around to it I will plug my 32 gig Walkman (15 years old now) that has my 300 favourite albums on it into the aux port in the XJS and see if it works.
As for sat nav I have a very good touring atlas of Australia and a newish Garmin if I get lost.
I couldn’t justify the cost of this unit when I have stuff that will work with what I have in the car.
