Attached is a photo of the LH Front door spring hinge that is broken (on square bottom end). I need a replacement. I have a 93 XJS Coupe. Don't need the whole hinge, just the spring.. Front door will not stay open without this spring. Thanks..

 

Is there a way to replace just the spring? Mine broke and I bought a spare hinge but have procrastinated changing it out. Check with David Boger at "everydayxj" he may have one on a car he's parting.

 

Jag sold the whole hinge assembly incl the spring as one item but it's NLA. You might look on the net for someone parting out a car and see if they'll sell you the spring.

If I were you I'd try to find a local metalshop and see if they could fabricate for you. Should be pretty simple.
