Just in case anyone was wondering......

Did update info on car and look forward to your reply with the wiring diagram. I could trace the speaker wires with a 1.5 volt battery and a volt/ohm meter for power and ground, but that would account for only six wires, plus the antenna actuator. It is so much easier with a schematic AND I THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!
See you are from San Jose; I was station at Moffett Field in 1945 when Mountain View and Sunnyvale were fruit orchards. Now they are part of Silicone Valley Use to ride blimps over San Josie on the way to the Santa Cruz pass and the Pacific. Had a great time in your fair city with very nice people

I pull the AJ9150W radio today and soldered the speakers to the harness. The 93 XJS harness has no ground wire but has a 3/4 inch wide wire strap attached to the radio. I will make the strap the system ground.
There are two other wires from the harness W/R to lighting and W/U to the fuse panel that I don't intend to connect (No Need?) and on the new radio harness I see no need to connect the Red ACC or the Pink Reverse.
Connection of speaker wires was a snap because Jaguar placed paper ID's on them. I used the solder heat shrink method for connection. Removal of the radio is a matter of pulling the A/C knobs remove two nuts in the knob wells, remove the face plate and remove four screws.
I have one question: On the back of the Jag radio is an 8 pin round plug with cable (looks like a Svideo connector, but it's not) I have no idea its use or function, Do you?
Just hope there is no surprise at the end!
Added the next day
There was a surprise, when the screen actuated it had a crack down the middle. Couldn't tell until hookup was complete. Still not sure it is wired properly since there was no sound, but with the broken screen there could be other unrelated problems. The antenna went up and down without any assist, but that could be because the radio only showed a light for a few seconds and powered on and off. I am gong to revisit my wiring and insure it is correctly mated.

Rechecked wiring and all in order. Have not received new radio; so no installation. Would like to know the round plug's function that was on the Jaguar radio?????
Would like to received comments on installation and any ideas you may have

BRILLIANT!!!!
i should have known that. Thank you
NEED CONFIRMATION
After you connect the eight wires to the speakers from the Jaguar cable, you are left with four Jaguar cables: White and red which i assume goes to ACC (fused) red. This may dim the lights on the radio when the driving lights are on. Purple which appears to be the power out line and goes to the yellow (fused) battery line on the radio harness. The yellow and green is the antenna line and connects to the blue on the radio harness. the last is the white and blue from the jag's fuse and choke and is thinner than the purple wire.
The brown lead on the radio harness is labeled parking and I believe I read it should be grounded to keep the screen on.
The named connections above are assumptions and I would really appreciate confirmation on their correctness. Once confirmed or corrected, it will facilitate other readers installation.
FYI: The purple wire, which is heavier then the others, provides 12vts when the ignition is turned on, The white and blue has 12vts at all times.

Finally had time to install the radio. Followed your plan except I used Vynel Contact instead of tape. The temperature/fan cover is about 1/4 larger than the radio and I wondered how you solved that spacing problem?

The hole in the temp panel is quite a bit bigger than the single DIN sizeof the stereo, so making the stereo a little bit fatter by wrapping tape around it wasn't an issue
