Later model jag wheels for xjs?
Hi all,
First post here, looking for some advice on wheels for my dads xjs (as my forum name might have suggested...)
Dad has a 1991 xjs which I do some tinkering on for him from time to time. It's in storage for winter but when it comes back out at least two of the p6000 tyres on it need replacing and being a pretty uncommon size now, the replacement ones I've found are eye-wateringly expensive- 235/60 15 size priced at £283 each!
The wheels on it are 5 spoke fox alloys, (an aftermarket brand) which dad has no particular opinion on. So, would any wheels from later Jaguars fit? There are loads of sets for x-type jags for example on eBay which would mean a change to a far more easily available tyre size.
Suggestions welcomed please

Hmmm, I thought the xjs only came with 15 inch wheels and a few later models with 16 inch. At least here in the uk.
Did you mean the xj? I'm not that familiar with all the models... And whether there are any differences inbetween different countries and model letters etc.
Thanks for help so far

There does seem to be a fair bit more tyre choice in the 16" rim, at least in Australia that is the case.
I've only just managed to take off the aftermarket 16s that were on my car, and replace them with these.... it took me a long time to find a set, and they needed a fair bit of work, but I'm pretty happy with the results!

Plums,
I wish I was skilled and/or resourceful enough to refinish those wheels myself! I actually contracted that job to a business that has been doing it for nearly 40 years. They had to re-round some of the rims, fill the gutter-rash, and then paint them, first in silver and then a good few coats of clear with silver flake in it.
If you'd like any more details (paint manufacturer, colour codes etc) just let me know, and I'll ask the questions.
