I'm glad that you've made the correct decision. Your kitty looks wonderful and that thing in the middle of the hood made her no justice.
Again, congrats!
Cheers,
Hi Reinaldo
Getting rid of that 'Leaper' felt like a breath of Fresh Air!
I've never been so pleased to see it go, as the Dealership, which I presume must have fitted it to Special Order for the P.O.
Damaged the Bonnet/Hood 'Big Time' by doing the bolts up too tight!
The Screw Caps don't look that Brilliant but from about 5ft away look like a couple of Rivets.
The only problem being, they are standing up too high, so now I am thinking of gluing the caps (on their own) directly onto the Bonnet/Hood, as a Stop Gap measure.
As that part of the Bonnet Hood, will eventually have to be re-sprayed, after those unsightly holes have been Welded up.
So that's a good example of how a Garage/Shop can mess up your Car, if as in this case they didn't appear to take enough care with the fitment.
As much as I love the Leaper. I would have removed it to if it was in the middle of my hood.
What where they thinking putting it there?
I can sort of understand it in a way, as if you are short of Stature, or a little bit Vertically Challenged as they say these days! You could be sitting down so low you cannot see the Bonnet/Hood.
So that being the Case the 'Leaper' makes for an ideal Aiming Mark, in order to judge the halfway point on the Bonnet/Hood, especially with a Grey Car which is almost the same Color as the road.
But as that's not the case with me, I don't want the blinking thing on there!
OB, now mount the pretty little leaper where it should have been to start with and throw that blinking badge away. JTsmks, it's poll, not pole. Your public profile seems to be incomplete as in no 'about me' button. RagJag
Thanks from the grammar lesson, it's exactly why I come on here, to have someone correct my spelling errors and point out my personal preferences in my profile are in error. How did I ever make it this far in life?
My wife and I just bought an XJS c and it hade to have a leaper on the hood. We took the badge off and put it in the same spot. Every time my wife saw a leaper she always said there goes my car so the leaper had to go on. And we a pretty happy with it. King19

I’m all for everyone doing whatever you want. Put a unicorn on there if you want.
I feel that the XJ-S was Jaguar’s move away from the historical styling cues of the XJ6s. While based on the same platform, it leaves all the previous styling behind it and goes in a sharper, squarer direction.
For this his reason alone I don’t think the leaper is right for my XJ-S.
when my car was at AM tickford, for Cabrio mod, it had a leaper , but when sold and shipped to USA , only thing left was 2 holes ,, but to me whats left of AM decals is most important !

Managed to break the one on the XJR6, dumbass.
Jaguar Classic wanted £227 for a new one!
Got one from Hong Kong for £14 including postage.
Fits a treat.
But will probably rust or dissolve in the rain.
