Default LHD steering rack

Guys
I have a friend who has an XJS v12 coupe 5.3 and it is a LHD USA spec car. We desperately need a LHD rack for it. We really want the later ZF rack as fitted to the later facelift cars.
Has anyone got any leads to breakers, or to anyone who has one please? I have tried a USA firm advertising just what we need on Ebay, a rebuilt rack, but so far they have sent me an incorrect XJ40 rack (completely different fixings) and are trying to find the correct one that they advertised and told me after checking that they had indeed got.
I am braced for disappointment from them, so am looking elsewhere. Any help greatly appreciated, the rack does not have to be rebuilt, we can arrange that if needed.
Thanks
Greg

Have you tried Coventry West in Atlanta? They have a large selection of used parts. Also try David Bodger at everydayxj.com

Here you go Greg...

http://www.ebay.de/itm/JAGUAR-XJ6-XJ-12-Serie-3-Lenkgetriebe-Zahnstangenlenkung-Powerrak-Linkslenker-/172567172772?hash=item282dce16a4:g:bvYAAOSwTuJYwCb 8

It is from a series III XJ12 but is the same ZF style. LHD too... So it should be right

Is the car in the states or is it an imported US model in Europe?

Default Ebay rack- that's not ZF........

The rack in the Ebay listing is not a ZF unit- it is the earlier style.

The ZF piece has a single main body cast from one piece of aluminum

As a matter of fact, I have access to a few of them (the ZF units) . Please contact me via PM for more info.....

The "Pow-A-Rak"? Mine is a ZF part and looks the same...!?

And I thought the ZF racks were introduced on XJ and XJ-S models at the same time... The Series III rack shown is from 1992... Last of the models...

I just ordered from the RackDoctor (for the Van) and it will arrive tomorrow...
I will be ordering one for my XJS in a Month or two
Life time warranty ... and If you do not have one to send back I guess you just have to eat the core charge

Greg
here we call them Tie-rods inner and outer...
first you remove the outer
then
you remove the rubber boot(you might call that something else )
( the accordion rubber thingy)
then you now have access to remove the
inner tie-rod end and it un-screws from the rack...

1982-1992 Jaguar XJ12 RACK AND PINION

this is cheaper and easier and you can opt for outer tie-rods too...
(I do as I will not have to worry that the old ones might be a little worn)

Default Actually in stock??

I'd be surprised to hear that they actually had this unit available now. Rebuildable cores on these are hard to find...... The early units are everywhere- no problem.

I actually called them just to find out- they don't have this unit on the shelf ready to ship and they're not sure if they have a core to rebuild....
