I should also add that the A/C holds a charge about a day.

The temp controls... Fan etc. did work.

Radio ALWAYS needs a code after shutoff.

Did these have an alarm? There is a horn mounted by the brake booster.

Both fans ran, drivers side only one to run with key off.

Thanks, Bucky

In PA, if you license it as a Classic, emissions testing is not required.

For $2500, jump on it. If the other one with the body kit & quad exhausts is a similar price, snag it too.

As for the under-hood siren, lots of dealers & individuals fitted after market alarms. Almost none of them are still functional.

Radio: stick it in a closet somewhere if you want to keep all the OEM parts. Find a nice Nakamichi with a subdued facia and matching green lighting to complement your interior.

[edit] vintage Alpine head units also look boss.

Yeah, I found an odd "alarm" under the bonnet of my 83 XJ6. A down off/upon swith triggered by the bonnet. And a "horn" of some type as well. Inopertive anyway, I removed it all. Even the best alarms are futile. Enrich the installer, irritate fellow motorists and humour for thieves.

My Jeep had a very slow leak in the AC. Yearly charge required. Not a big deal to me. Just buy a can of R134A and charge it. But year before last, I got a can plus sealer. All right, cooold AC came back. Made it through two summers now with nice
AC/

Yours seems to be a bit more problemsome . Get a leak detector or a pro to do a scan.

Thanks everyone for responding. The current owner is pretty cool and seems to like me for some odd reason 😊 but if I were to trust my gut only and had to make a decision I would buy this just based on that. When I weigh that with having climbed under it and what I saw, along with the support of this forum. I don't think I can lose. It will just be an addition to my current lineup, so the driving will be selective and she will be able to be"out of service" if proper maintenance requires it.

I will let you know when she's mine.
