Default Looking for Instructions for this....

Could someone who has an XJS/XJ-S with the Valet switch under the armrest and still has their original owners manual please photocopy the page(s) that explain the operation of the switch and post it?

1988 here, so not completely sure and I don't have your manual. Generally the valet switch will disable the trunk, gas cap, passengers door, and glove box.

On newer cars you can either unlock the car using the fob to exit valet mode, or open the car using a master key if you have it. idk what the 96 has. Some cars have one or both, some have a valet key that will operate the door but not exit valet and can be used in the ignition.

If it is in valet typically it doesn't need to be locked, so older systems like my '88 just have a separate ignition key. You lock the glovebox and trunk manually and toss them the ignition key.
