Lucas ab14 ignition amp
Hey all I am still chasing down the problem listed below with my 84 V12 but I found this pic to show our million dollar ignition amp is noting but a $50.00 delco module.

Yep, thousands of post regarding that in all the Jaguar forums I have ever read, and also well discussed in Kirby's book.
I use Echlin (made in USA) well the last 2 were, and NEVER had an issue with them.
Also moving the amp out the front of the radiator (alongside the 2nd coil), saves their bacon in my opinion.
Then going to a "new technology" single coil takes a hell of a load off the amp also. All our amps run "cold" at all times now we have the single coil on them all.

Brian,
I use a Bosch MEC723 coil. Simple plug and play, and remove the wiring to the front coil, and the front coil itself, actually takes longer than fitting the new coil.
Jaguar did a Ducelliar coil for that application, but way down here they wanted more than the usual $$ for it, yeh right, so that Bosch came up, $60, and we have 8+ V12's with them running, mine since 1999.

I left the front coil and wiring in place, disconnected, as a conversation piece :-)
If you can't find the Bosch coil mentioned by Grant the Jag number is DAC6093. I think they run about $60 nowadays if you can live without a Jaguar label on the box.

Not sure that was a picture I found its not from my car. I have been chasing a horriable problem with the idle on my car and have come to the point we are just throwing parts before I turn it into a Chevy car.

Is yours missing entirely? There's nothing in one that can't be replaced with off-the-shelf parts. Used ones appear on eBay $50ish.
Id call David at everydayxj.com if I was looking for a replacement.
