I am now at the point that I need to put the windscreen back again into my 1993 Coupé and I have a question on how the "mastic retention dam" should be fitted? Which of the two pictures below shows the correct method? Your help is greatly welcomed.

Hello, I'm just writing to say how sorry I am that I (and indeed the forum!) wasn't able to help you. I did have a windshield installed in my 1992 coupe this summer. I showed your photographs to the man who installed my windscreen and he did not recognize the part (the mastic dam that you have). He said it was very different from mine--but then I learned that the windscreen installation parts changed after VIN 186966, so I assume your car is the later kind??

Can you tell us how things worked out for you and your car, if anything has been done?
