Default MotoLito Steering Wheel

I just replaced the stock wheel with a MotoLito, I cant figure out how to connect the horn. In the center of the push ring there is a small brass screw with a nut in it, On the Boss shaft I have the long tube with the nylon nut in the center, Does anyone know how to male the horn work. I thought that if i soldered a insulated wire to the center shaft that it might work. But after thinking about it I thought that it would make the horn come on constantly. Any ideas out there?

You have to solder a wire from the brass centre of the column rod to connect with the contact on the Motolita horn button. If you need a photo, post again.

I just did this a few days ago with a Moto-Lita hub and a Tourist Trophy wheel:

The hub has the horn switch. The center brass post that you see in the center of the hub connects to the long brass tube that goes down the center of the steering column. Or to Greg's point - it's supposed to - but it doesn't.

My fix was to take about an inch of 12 gauge wire, strip off the insulation, bend it into a U shape, flatten the U, and stick it in the center rod.

This effectively bridges the gap between the brass rod in the middle of the steering column and the the brass terminal on the back side of the hub.

It's a pretty simple fix but I am surprised Moto-Lita hasn't fixed it yet.

Post a picture of your Moto-Lita steering wheel. I'm curious to see if it was worth the extra $100 over the Tourist Trophy wheel.
