Default Mounting an amp in the trunk

Hi,
I just wanted to run an idea by the forum to see if you like this idea or have a better one.
I pulled out my cd changer from my trunk which was screwed in two L brackets. My amp is not as wide as the cd changer so I was thinking about screwing in a piece of wood between the L brackets creating a shelf and then attaching the amp to this wood/shelf. What do you think?

At least wrap the wood with carpet or leather. Lol

JagZilla, that is badass. I think a pair of vintage McIntosh would look boss in there too. Very nice. Do you have a thread with your stereo install?

Thanks.
No, I put the stereo in while I was on J-L. However, it's not finished yet. I will be moving the amp up a bit, and installing a CD changer below it. Call me old fashioned, but, if I have more than $1,500 invested in my car stereo, I want to listen something a lot higher quality than MP3s. My preference is correctly mastered (or remastered, ala MoFi) SACDs.

When I put the new interior in, I need to find a place for everything. I have a 6 band parametric equalizer which never had a home in the old interior, and it just kinda slid down between the driver seat & the console.

I hear you 100% - people knock it as style over substance, but I have nothing but vintage Bang & Olufsen at the house, and I take the sound in my Jag very seriously as well.

Cheers.
