Sorry Keesh, when I said 222632 I did mean Jaguar 1996 MY, not 1996 calendar year. I THINK that the first 1996-built car was 225037, as my info indicates 1608 cars built in 96. But I could well be wrong!

MY'95.5 = MY'96. My XJS is from June '95 and has the letter T in VIN which stands for MY'96

 

I have a 96. The VIN is 224949. We’re missing something? V12s?

 

Manufacture Date in 1995 ?

 

It can get confusing, doesn't it.

There is Jaguar World MY 1995.5 This starts at 221855. At this point all XJS, 4 litre & V12s are referred to as "Celebration". This is April, not May, 1995.
I believe that this equals US MY 1996.

Then there is Jaguar World MY 1996 which I think happened a few months later at 222632

Then there is Calendar year 1996. I think the first car built in 1996 is 225037. I believe a total of 1608 4 litre & V12s were built during the period from January to April 1996.


Keesh's table is from the Jaguar archives. There are some errors and gaps in it which have been pointed out to them over the years. We have been building up more accurate production details and VIN changes based on their records since 2003.

I have the electrical diagrams for the MY92 and MY93 does anyone know the vin cut off to make the car a 93 ?
