Default Need V12 Advice Please...

I have been looking for an XJS now for a month or so and mostly only 95 and 96 models with a 4.0 6 cylinder. Last week I stumbled across a 94 6.0 V12 convertible with only 27,000 original miles. The car is in good running condition other than the air conditioning is not blowing cold. I think all can agree that the later 95/96 4.0 engines are quite reliable and daily drivable, did the 94 and later V12's benefit from the same upgrades? Can the V12 be as reliable as the later 4.0 cars? Or should I resume the search for a 6 cylinder?

Thanks for advice!
Steve

Yeah, the later V12s were reliable. "Reliable" in this case doesn't mean a guarantee of no problems ever, easy to work on, or inexpensive to repair :-). However, yes, the 6.0 V12s had some enhancements over the older 5.3 V12.

Reliability aside, the 6.0 XJSs are a bit on the rare side and a real powerhouse to boot. A clean example might be worth scooping up even if it might be a bit more effort and money to in the upkeep department. IMHO, of course.

Cheers
