I have a 95 AJ16 car with original rear seats (redyed) and autoberry new(recent) front seats that I had them custom make in 100 percent leather, no vinyl panels (for an upcharge)
I also have a brand new complete front and rear OEM Autolux interior with piping for a 94 V12 car. The design is a bit different, specially in certain parts in the front back parts. But very very similar
Anyway, as you may know from my other topic I am changing the headliner in the car. Since i was doing this, I decided to disassemble the rear completely, resprayed the rear quarter panels with the closest color to barley I found, re-chromed the rear courtesy lights with chrome foil, and I took a chance and installed the 94 v12 rear sets....so now I have 1/2 the NOS Connolly interior installed. Rear seats have piping and the “ruched” leather
surprising how how easy it was. I must admit I did not use hog rings at all, but just zippy ties—-lots and lots of zippy ties- although some parts of the foam where a bit different, I was successful and they look pretty good- took me 4 hours maybe.
question- how hard, in contrast, is it to do the front seats. I fear that there may be fit issues I will not be able to overcome. I am tempted to do it myself, but maybe I should just leave one to a professional....
does doing the backseat qualify me to do the front, or should I leave that to a professional ?
Thanks. I am just wondering if now that I got my feet wet with this I should do the front seats or if that’s a whole different game
I think you will be fine, Spike. Nice job; but I would suggest you use hog rings on the front, I do not think those cable ties will not stand regular loads, month in month out.
