No Results for "Automatic Fire Extinguisher?"
After a search for "automatic fire extinguisher" in all open forums that lead to ZERO results, I ask this question:
1) Does anybody use one and 2) which ones are recommended?
If not meticulously maintained, it appears the XJS is a likely candidate for a roadside meltdown.
Currently reading some horror stories on the topic...
Thanks in advance!

Never had one, even in the Road Train Monster.
Maintain the beast, NOT paranoid maintenance, just common sense.
Fuel hoses are the main on V12, and every 5 odd years is a standard.
Too many owners rely on someone else to take care of their classic, so be it, its how some people roll.
Your market can have Cat fires, again poor maintenance to blame.
I learnt, way back oin the 60's, when I blasted around in the MK7, if I smelt fuel, STOP, fix the stink, drive on. Its just how we were living hundreds of miles from anywhere. Steep learning curve, but sound advice.
My nieghbour, Hyundai, has a fuel smell, told her dont drive it, not listening, still motoring around, so its not just Jags that have this issue.
I need more coffee.

I agree wth Grant. Nothing all that unusual is needed to prevent the fires. New hoses every few years.
Since you have Marelli ignition make sure it is in 100% good shape and then just check the distributor rotor once a year or so. If you are driving and the engine feels sluggish, stop the engine...as you may have a Marelli failure.
That's about it, really
Cheers
