Default And now another problem pops up

In a recent post I mention the Ol' XJS is running great and about to be back out on the road, Well hit 2 snags, one not major, one is. Ran a vacuum on the A/C system, all was great, but when recharging the clutch would not come on, 1st thing I figure is to check fuse/relay, and ensure that the wiring/connections are tight. 2nd Major Problem to pop up, the right side CAT got cherry red. Guess I will have to check The CAT by tapping it to see if it ok, and even though I have all new HT leads, plugs, rotor and cap, check them for proper sprk. The injectors were sent out, cleaned and tested and fuel rail was cleaned. all fuel lines are new, as are the regulators. injector Harness was remade and moved out of Death Valley. So time ti go back over and break things down to see what is going on.

Oh the joy of owning an older Jag

Check the in line fuse under the RH console cheek.

Basically where your LHD passengers Left knee will be.

Remove the cheek, remove the footwell metal vent, and tucked up above and forward a tad is an inline fuse. It is attached in a plastic strap, to the system thermostat switch, and on the RHD cars mostly got at by "feel" than sight. Your LHD is probably a snap for access.

Cats, no idea, we no got down here.

Beside the inline, I was thinking of checking the relay and other things, thanks for that tip, did not realize it was there. as far as the CATs, its just started but have and idea of the cause, and since my State (Nebraska) has no inspections may remove them and have a bunghole welded in for the oxygen sensors, either way I love the challenge of getting the Ol' girl running right and a new chance in life, only hope to resolve the matter so I can get it into a couple of car shows

Some of the A6 compressors had a thermal fuse on the back of the compressor. They would blow if the charge was too low. It is a rectangle with three terminals.
