I have done this as part of my refurb, engine out at the time. The no. 11 'O' ring is in the oil pump casing itself that the pipe on the fitting pushes up into. I had the sandwich plate off at the time. The problem will be getting the old one out more than the new one in.

Here is a photo of what is inside. Your fitting fits into the round hole on the left of the photo. You might just be able to get a right angled pointer in there though the fitting's hole on the sandwich plate, but that hole is only about 1inch diameter, maybe a tad more, so it will be tight.

Worth a go though, as nothing lost if it cannot be done. Mind you, if the sandwich plate comes off, all the oil pipe O rings can be done!

cheers Greg,
the problem is I have had oil on the 4 bolts of the elbow and I cant work out were it is coming from. I did the lower o ring and changed the square gasket last year and left the small one rather just mess it up and not be able to change it, it also drips off the timing degree plate holding bolts, not much just annoying on the workshop floor, looking at the pic I would say it would drip all the time if it was faulty, but my drip only occurs when its been running.
I did the crank seal about 14 years ago only done 10.000 miles in that time but the car has spent a couple of years a couple of times in storage. i'm wondering that it may need doing again.

If the lower O ring on the fitting is leakproof, the oil cannot get out there. The No. 11 O ring would just allow leakback into the sump.

If the oil is starting above the sandwich plate, then it could be the seal you mention but also very likely to be the plug in the access hole for the timing tensioner. Just to the left and above the water pump, above the arc of the pump where it goes out to A bank. Either replace with a Kelhofer ally plug, or renew the OE rubber one with a touch of sealer.

It is very likely that the sandwich plate gasket itself is leaking too!
