Default oil filter relocation / dual oil filters.

So as I'm building the headers I've realized that I will need a remote oil filter. And then I saw the dual oil filter kit, and was debating puting the dual parallel oil filters to gain some oil capacity and then running a full flow oil cooler.

This means probably I'm going to have to make a new oil filter housing. on the side of the block out of aluminum with AN- fitting bungs welded on.

Since some others on here are far ahead of me on building custom hotrods and race cars. Any imput?

Thanks again,
Calvin

I would think the dual filters is a bit excessive and take up a bunch more space in an already cramped engine bay. Where do you plan to mount the remote filter? The passive and full flow oil systems have a lot of parts between the two that are different. The oil filter housing is the same however different ports are opened up and some valves are different. I am right in the middle of working on setting up the full flow system on my 6.0 swap. The 6.0 motors are all full flow. All HE Germany 5.3 and I have seen some 5.3 from England with full flow. The visual difference is in the oil cooler. I have posted pics below. The full flow oil cooler uses -16 an lines, the passive uses what looks to be -12 lines or it is a 45 degree 3/4" taper fitting. Good luck with those headers as they should look awesome. Is your goal on the drivers side to split up the pipes so you have a pipe on either side of the steering linkage?

Here are some pics of some headers someone had on an XJS that I happened to stumble across sometime in the past. One is the routing near the oil filter.

Hope this helps you out!!
