oil leak
Hey guys,my oil leak is getting worse now.I believe its the banjo fitting behind/beside the filter.Am I right that oil will actually squirt from there under pressure?I intend to replace the brass washers and the filter since it needs to come off anyway.Any other suggestions will be appreciated.
Les,
That pipe etc sees normal oil pressure, as soon as the engine cranks, or close to that time, and that can be 80+psi. The washers can leak, and it has been known for the metal pipe to fracture very close to the banjo. Apparently from vibration, and/or misfitment.
The other end/s of that pipe are at the centre pedastal, and the back of each cylinder head, which of course means nothing unless the pipe needs to come off coz it is cracked, hope not for your sake, real PITA job.
