Does anyone know of a shop or individual that has and knows how to use an old PDU computer for setting up a 1993 XJS 4.0 engine, in the Chicago south suburbs. I have spent several thousand dollars paying several different shops to make my Jag run smooth at idle and not one has succeeded. I've decided that until I can find a true XJS guy/gal that has a PDU available to them, I am not spending any more money on this issue. I can drive it the way it is, but I would like to get it to idle smooth.

Thanks for the location, but I'm on the far south end of Chicago, almost by Indiana. I think the ride is over 250 miles to top gear autoworks. I just can't believe that there is no mechanic in the Chicago area that has and uses a PDU. Thanks again.

I would call ahead and make a weekend out of it? If you call them, tell them where you're coming from and what you need, I'm sure they'll accommodate you.

I live in DC, but I'm from NYC, I've done that 4-1/2 hour drive too many times to count.

Find a three day weekend and enjoy the city? The PDU service will only take an hour at best!

It seemed to be the only solution that cured my high idle problem.

 

hi, can you give me more information on the pdu that you have? Do you have the instruction manual for it asking if the tool has capabilities of programming? Do you know what all models it works on? The model we are working on is a 1996 jaguar right hand drive model double six, vin#: SAJDKAMS3BR798091. We are trying to do a diagnostic on the body module and the security module.
