Default Please Excuse my Ignorance (Aux. Fan)

'95 4.0 XJS / I feel stupid asking this, but regarding the Aux. cooling fan; I see one standard engine-driven fan in the center of the radiator area. I keep noting discussions of a second electric fan. I am not referring to replacing the standard fan with electric but if there indeed exists a secondary fan in the I6 versions. Thanks for the patience!

You should have 2 fans; the primary is an engine driven clutch fan and the secondary is electric.

Hmmm, it must be deep underneath. I thought they might be only on the 12 cylinders. I will check. Thanks!

I could be wrong, never been into one, but I dont think you have an aux fan. You probably have a mechanical fan on the left had side and nothing but flaps on the right hand side.

The other cars have those same flaps, to allow air flow at speed, below the aux fan. Yours just has a entire section of them on the RH side.

Actually, the aux electric fan on 4.0 is pusher type fan and it is on the front side of the rad. So you can't see it from the engine side.
Some cars might not have been equipped one, for I have seen the car without it once.

Ahh that would make sense too, by this time many cars with AC were starting to have the aux fan placed on the condenser as a pusher.
