Default power sources in the front of the car

I want to install a set of fog/driving lights... but I don't want to run cables all the way to the back of the car.... are there any power sources closer to the front?

Thanks

There are two "+" junction posts on the firewall, one near the brake booster and the other in about the same area on the opposite side. It's been a few years so I can't remember more exactly but you'll see 'em.

HI Rama

What year is your car ? I thought everything post HE had front fog lamps as standard ? Did you look under the front bumper/fender for any old wiring ? (Maybe a PO removed the front fogs)

On USA-market XJSs foglamps were not factory fitted until around '87-'88 model year.

@ Rama

In the cabin, to the left of the steering wheel, underneath the instrument cluster there should be 2 push switches. The left hand one if for front fogs, the right hand one is for rear fogs. This is on a facelifted '92 car. Do you have those switches on your '94?

If I remember.... to the left there are 2 switches... one for the hazard and the other one is not functional... to the right there is the rear fog and window-defog...

@ Rama

Yes, I just looked at some '94 cars on autotrader and the switches are different from my '92 car. I wish Jaguar would quit moving stuff around !

Anyway, I posted a file link in the other post where you were looking for owners manuals, etc. The circuit diagrams are in there for the fog lights. Have a look at them and you may be able to work out how to wire up a set on a '94 car. But, yes, it looks like you now have 2 challenges..... no switch in the cabin, and no power source. You will also need to run the lamps through a relay.....
