Default Radio code 1989 XJS AM/FM Cassette

Disconnected my battery then hooked back up. Radio now displays code. Thanks to members on forum I found the code written on the radio case. Tried entering the 5 digit code. On the 5th number entry it beeped but code remained. Is there a trick to entering the code?

You are more likely to get Replies to your question in XJS forum so I have moved it with a re-drect left in Canada Region forum.

No trick that I can think of. But if you enter the code incorrectly three times (I think) you have to wait an hour or so (I think) before the radio will accept the correct code. Something like that; it's been a long time for me, as you can probably tell.

Cheers

Can you change the code after you use it to your own code ?? If so maybe a PO changed the code. Maybe there is a reset somewhere.

The radio in the 1993 model has only four numbers maybe using five is your problem

Enter the numbers slower and it should work. See here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...t-code-200938/
