Radio code?

RE: Radio code?
I think teh Jaguar original radio is the cars weakest link. I have already replaced the crappy 4" speakers with modern 6x9 spaekers and I am about to install a 12" sub in the trunk. NO I dont liksten to the thumping music, but playing brandenburg's cercerto #3 with it turned up is a JOY !
Also replacing the stereo with a Pioneer PEH-6000. I have not done it yet, but I am anxious.

RE: Radio code?
The dealer can get it for you. They'll have to take the radio out I think, to get to its SN on the back of the radio. You have to furnish proof of ownership of the car, or radio if you take it in yourself. Also, if you have the original paperwork, it may be written down somewhere by the original owner, since it has to be re-entered each time the battery is disconnected. Also, on some older cars, the codes were hand written on the inside of the hood, but don't count on that. Personally, my radio sounds great, at any volumn. We've had this discussion before, guess some speakers were worse than others.

Found on Daves Jaguar Pages...
Not sure if it will help you but with VIN and Radio SN maybe dealer can get code without removal.
To display the serial number of the radio...
Hold down the MD eject button and press PTY button and the computer briefly displays the last 5 digits of the radio serial number preceded with 5 zeros.
Good Luck

I don't think the radio in a 1990 Jag has those buttons

Open the bonnet, look in the topleft corner for a white sticker with the four digit code. Sometimes the sticker is missing or illegible, and if memory serves they weren't applied until "91. If you've looked thoroughly through your owner's literature with no success, PM me your VIN number and I'll see what I can do.
