Default Rear Differential Cover Bolt Torque

I’d like to pull the cover off my rear differential (1996 XJS 4.0L) to clean the breather vent. Does anyone know the torque setting for the cover bolts when I reinstall it?

The input shaft and passenger side half shaft seals are leaking and before replacing them I thought I might confirm the breather isn’t clogged and over pressurizing the rear diff causing the leak.

Thanks!

Thanks.

Whatever the guide is for that size of bolt, from memory I think 21-28 N-m

I clean the area and then use loctite 515 or 518 flange sealer to provide the seal between the cover and the diff. Just make sure the surface is clean of the old sealant beforehand.

Just wondering if anyone has "invented" a gasket for that diff cover yet? Preferably a nice Gortex gasket .
