Default Rear Trunk Deck Spoiler

Driving behind a newer Dodge Charger this week, I noticed ir had a nicely formed rear spoiler, which appeared to have the same slight arch as the rear trunk lid as my '89XJS.
I've found the factory optioned spoilers to be rather low and very un-assuming -and cannot remember seeing any spoilers on the pre-facelift Jags.

I may see if a MoPar dealer has one in stock, just to sit onto the trunk lid to see how long the are, and if they would look semi-appropriate, or be a redneck joke.

recently removed this spoiler from my pre-facelift.

it did hug the curves nicely, and had a hole for the aerial.

it actually went to another forum member a few weeks ago. maybe he will post a photo of it mounted when its all painted up.

i can look up the brand/manufacturer information if you'd like. i think i posted a photo in his posting if you look back a few pages.

Default Spoiler-Dr.Scientist

I thought I had perused all the postings for the last while, but don't recall seeing any about a spoiler, particularly in a pre-face XJS. -If you can ID the post or the photo, please let me know.....anmd also the source of the spoiler.

sure...
here is the post, there's a photo in there.

i can PM you some more.
compared to the factory spoiler on the facelifts, the mounting posts on this one were set in a bit narrower.

also, i don't know if the whole thing is mounted more forward than the factory facelift wing, or if the aerial on the facelift is more forward, but on my pre-facelift, a hole was cut in the wing for the aerial to rise through.

the underside of the wing had hersteller kamei imprinted on it. i believe this may be the company.
Kamei car styling,headlight trims,grilles,door handles,car styling

hope that helps.

Gregh, I bought the spoiler from DrScientist. I just had the car painted and installed the spoiler yesterday. I am in the process of having the wheels powder coated. I will post a pic of it when that is done. I did not use the 1" risers that came with it so it is not obtrusive. Looks good to me. The next thing after the wheels will be a new top in black. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and when I look at this car I see beauty.

I just sold this spoiler to another forum member. I'm pretty sure it's a genuine Jaguar piece.

Jagzilla, that spoiler looks to be the same as the one DrScientist sold me.

Default Spoiler

I just went to Capt. Jag House, and found the e-listing for the Lister Pre-FaceLift Rear Spoiler, must admit I really do like it. -It was listed at $275, made an offer of $250 -accepted. I bought a few other goodies on the same order, to save on shipping costs. The timeline may work out well too, as my baby is going in for the stripping/painting in May.

Default Factory fitted spoiler on my pre-facelift 1990 Convertible

It looks like the Lister one available from Ebay? Not sure but my car has only had 2 owners and the first for only 2 years from new. The car is 100% original so this is not a diy mod.

Thanks to JagZilla.... The spoiler is currently in primer ready for paint. I'm actually considering wrapping it in vinyl because I've done this before with great results. Once i get the bl@@dy car back from my mechanic with a SMOG certificate we'll get it mounted and take some pictures

Thanks for the great photos.
Yes, I'd say yours does look greatly like the Lister one I'm getting from Captain Jaguar e-store. -I too will post photos when the car is finished getting painted.

That was pretty quick work on the sanding and priming, Sarc. I look forward to seeing new pix soon.
