Should've known, Saul does splendid work. I've been to his shop and he does impressive stuff.

Cool rims and cool kitty. The blue body and blue top, along with the sporty/modern rims really look great as a package. Being a side view, at first glance I didn't realize that it was a "pre"... whether that is a compliment or not, I really like the way it looks.

Cheers,

Thanks a lot!
She is Kingfisher Blue.

The Penta wheels are 18" and they need 3mm spacers on the front not to push the center caps out.

may as well get into the show with mine!

295/35/18 rears ,275/35/18 frts, ENKEI Japan, with spacers i made.

i like a low wide stance front or rear view!

but really it is all about what one has at hand without spending rediculas money.

FLINT i do have two leapers, one on each side, also saying a have a REAL 12 cylinder engine.

if my car is set beside a standard ordinary XJS convertible, i could show so many changes made between the two cars.

check out the door handles(key fob opener), notice the bottom of the doors rounded, not so on regular XJS. plus many more,i'll leave that for later!

Jeebus can rest in peace.

Ron, I know your car is unique, but I guess I haven't looked closely enough before! I never realized that you shaved the door handles and rounded the doors!

You should start a thread to detail all your modifications - truly a one of a kind XJS.

I see it listed in the Houston Craigslist every now and again - you serious about selling, or just testing the waters?

thanks for the comments FLINT.

as far as selling it, after 21yrs, it has my DNA in it,LOL.
my daughter says when i pass she will put it in a museum, she does not want anyone else to own it, she watched me thru the yrs of building a truly one off car.

so many things are modified,i dont know where to start, sometimes when i'm under it, i see something i totally forgot, been 21yrs in the making, my XJS weighs in at 3360lbs on a calibrated weighing station, i spent a lot of time making it lighter!
lighter weight adds better performance, for both acceleration and handling, braking ETC.

and of course it has the Famous V12 ,also modified, my lifes expertice was as an engine builder.

Anyway, so here I'll start with my own. They came from an early XK8 that the local Jag dealer had just sold and whose new owner had brought in his own wheels, so these Revolvers became instantly for sale including the P-zeros already installed on them. The only adjustment was 1/4" spacer on the front wheels; nothing on the rear wheels.

Cheers,

Reinaldo,
I have done exactly the same on my 1992, and I also inherited the P-zeros 245/50zr17s etc. etc. Minor rubbing (right front only ) on full lock. However, can you advise please what spacer you used ? References talk about hub centric spacers, but for just 1/4", is a hub centric absolutely necessary ?
Any help, gratefully received.

Gerry.

Gerry,
I used these on the front of my XJS. The hub-centricity keeps them centered properly. You can get universal fitting spacers at most auto parts stores, but keeping them centered is the problem. Now with these shown here, I had to cut that center lip off (used a plasma cutter) as the inner ridge would not allow a good fit over the hub.

Best of luck,

The five lug nuts openings should keep the piece fairly centered, depending on the size of the lug perforations. I imagine there must be a whole variety of similar spacers for similar lug arrangements, even when not exactly the same. You can always "glue" the spacer on so it won't move once the wheel is tightened, which then becomes like kind of a permanent bond.

Many thanks to Drbill, and to forcedair1.
I appreciate your comments. My main concern was that hubcentric spacers are the preferred method for wide(r) spacers. But this said, since I only need the 1/4", I wondered if I could get away without the added expense of the hubcentric spacers, and run with a bog-standard 5x43/4 non-hubcentric.
Part of the question, I suppose, is whether the lugnuts will be OK with an extra 1/4" of spacer to deal with ??
Thanks all around in any event.

Well, yes, you do lose some thread, no doubt, but you still have several turns left, although now that you mention it, I'd say (in theory) that the ideal would be to resolve the 1/4" difference, but the experienced guys at the shop insisted that the arrangement was perfectly fine in their experience.

Cheers,

As long as you have 7 full turns, you should be okay.

OK...to round out my experience on this, I can advise that I obtained White Knight 5 lug, 4.5 5/16" spacers at Pep Boys (I know...) Part No. 106021 They did not have suitable lug nuts in Buffalo.
Back in Canada I dropped into Napa, and they had their own brand of chrome lugnuts Part No. 735-2150 which gave me 9 full turns attaching the wheel.
Just have to wait for a third pack of these lug nuts. They come in sets of four. Rats....
One slight drawback may be the centring of the spacer, but as forcedair said, perhaps a small spot of silicon adhesive will sort that.
Qualifier - this is for fitting Revolvers on a 92 XJS.

Default Wheel swap complete

Went from 17" 5 spoke Eagle alloys back to original 15" lattice.
Much more to my liking!
BTW - the alloys are posted in the classified section.
