Mozambique….5 spoke is the answer

The TWR Rims look too much like the 1996 XJS rims.

You forgot to show the 20 spokes that came on the facelift v12 models.

Between that and the 5 spokes….those are the best wheel options.

They have them in chrome, Diamond turned and powder coat.

Diamond turned look the best, but if you don’t like them shiny at all, powder coat is the one for you.

In the UK:

- the first 5-spoke had grooves and were painted
- when the AJ16 came along, the groove was deleted and the wheels were diamond-cut
- when the Celebration came along, the 5-spoke were chromed to cater for the US market taste.

Of course, no car should ever have chrome wheels! The best 5-spoke are obviously the non-groove diamond-cut ones. But then I'm biased! And the original proper TWR wheels look great on pre-facelift cars!

Love this banter!
To my taste, chrome looks too 'boy racer' on an XJS with its more refined GT character

Default Revolver wheels

Hello I just purchased some 17" chrome revolvers for my 1996 XJS Convert. The guy says that they should fit perfectly howvever you're saying that you're using a 1/4 spacer in the front. Where can I find such spacer? Can you please give me specifics of it? I'm sure I can do the research and find one one eBay or amazon. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

BTW, this doesn't necessarily have to be about what wheels you have on your kitty, but it can also include either pictures of an XJS that you have seen with those special wheels, or even wheels that you photoshop to an XJS, explaining where those wheels come from, or who sells them, in case somebody gets convinced...

Anyway, so here I'll start with my own. They came from an early XK8 that the local Jag dealer had just sold and whose new owner had brought in his own wheels, so these Revolvers became instantly for sale including the P-zeros already installed on them. The only adjustment was 1/4" spacer on the front wheels; nothing on the rear wheels.

Cheers,

Default XK8 Revolver Wheels on a 1990 XJS coupe

I have read your thread regarding installation of Revolver wheels on your XJS and am wondering about the spacer thickness for the front wheels. You say you used 1/4" thick spacers to clear the larger hub bearings. I was under the impression that the wheels needed more than 1/4" spacer to fit the Revolver wheels up front. Obviously, the smallest thickness is best. Please confirm your fitment and exactly what kind of spacer you have used. If 1/4" thick will do the job, do they need an integral hubcentric ring to center the wheel, or is there enough hub protruding through the spacer to center the wheel using a simple flat spacer and OEM lug nuts? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks....
Randolph

I used no spacers. There was some- a little rubbing when the wheels were on full lock but no rubbng in other driving. I removed the wheels anyway and went back to the original wheels.
Now I no longer have the car...given to my son....
Sorry I cannot be more helpful.
