Selling Help
Hello,
Does anyone know the best place to sell a 1991 XJS Convertible. I'm trying to help a buddy of mine sell a XJS that was donated to charity he runs and wanted to get some feedback on the best venue to sell. I have posted a classified ad here on the jag forum and it has some looks but no replies. Tried ebay too but only got some low bids. Any helpful comments appreciated.
Thanks.
Jason

Check out the consistently amazing prices that BringATrailer gets for an XJS:
https://bringatrailer.com/jaguar/xjs/
Seems like $10k is an absolute floor on convertibles.
Shame because $3500 is my ceiling.

I found your ad on here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/p...78k-mi-200242/
Compare the quality of your photography with the Bringatrailer photography. Your photos are all sideways, from a camera phone, and the weird light angle of the in-garage photos makes the drivers side door look repainted, though I doubt it was. If you aren’t much of a photographer, spending $250 on good photos will get you thousands more than the $8500 you’re looking for.

Agree, almost everything in Hemmings is overpriced. In my thoughts you have to start somewhere, best offer, firm and knowing what price you'll take "before" placing the $150 add, it's a $150 gamble. Lets face it, Jaguar's can be bought cheap in the USA regardless the condition. You have to find the right buyer that "really wants" what your selling. Ebay, & Craigslist, good luck with that.
Another crapshoot is the bigger auctions, that's my next roll of the dice

I agree with Jagsandmgs that the pics I have on my classified ad are not that good. I think the elderly lady who donated the vehicle took them so we didn't have much to work with.
I'll suggest he get better/professional pics and that should help it sell.
