Default source for affordable ignition key copies

Just wanted to share a source for actual *gasp!* affordable copies of the Jag ignition keys: www.triple-c.com . They were at the car show I went to and were able to take a code off my ignition key, go back to their shop, make and mail me a copy for about $40.

Hope this is useful to someone! - Gina

Is this something that people usually have issue with??
I had no idea...
When I got my car it had no keys. I ordered 2 sets of the replacement blanks for door and ignition and then took the ignition switch and door lock to a locksmith. Total for 2 sets was about 40 bucks
but maybe that was because it was a "just some guy" kinda thing

In 1990 Jag changed the ignition key to the Tibbe security key. I doubt your local key cutter has the special machine to make one.

Cost per key at the dealer was over $220 per key last time I checked, so $40 is a bargain

Cheers,

Allan

ohh yeah I forgot about that. I have seen those around the price mentioned of 40, but thats just for one.
I'd probably give it to my dad in that case, he was a locksmith for a few years and despises machines, so he could probably do it by hand with no problem.

Least it doesn't have a chip i guess.
