Hi all, is there a way of removing the starter motor only from above? The bolt that goes through the bell housing is very tricky, is there a special socket adapter I don’t know of that can help?

Please note that the bolt is not imperial 1/2 inch but Metric 13mm

 

😂 I love this contraption! I will attempt tomorrow. I was searching for a U shaped socket adapter/extension, but couldn’t find one, surely that would work for many situations, like this? Or am I missing an obvious physics issue here..

I’ve tried searching for such a thing and couldn’t find anything, I tried 180 degree socket adapter and U shaped socket adapter, does it have a specific name?

=> I don't know how to translate in english


But my fisrt solution is OK.
You just need a good quality 13mm wrench angled ring head (for me god quality mean perfectly fiting to the bolt in order not to damage it)
The diffciculty is to unlock the bolt. After unlocking....turning with fngers is easy.
