Steering Wheels for Manual Conversion?
In the coming months I will begin the process of swapping a T56 6-speed into my 1983 (w/ Chevy V8 swap).
The original wheel is far too large in my opinion, and top of my thighs often rub against the bottom of the wheel if I pull my legs up at all, which has me worried about operating a clutch unhindered. From what I've read, the original wheel is 15.5" in diameter (I'd measure mine, but it's still at the paint shop). So 14" seems right, but I wanted to check here - especially those of you who have a manual. I will be using the clutch pedal assembly from Jaguar Specialties.
Manual swap aside, I'm also wondering about how close the wheel will be to me with an aftermarket adapter (and perhaps a "dish" style wheel).
The two options I'm considering are:
1) Momo wheel + Momo adapter (like this one: XJS Momo Hub)
2) Moto Lita or Tourist Trophy wheel + Moto Lita adapter (Moto Lita XJS Adapter)
Assuming the Momo adapter doesn't put the steering wheel further out than the Moto Lita adapter would, I'm leaning towards Momo - if only because the horn button is much smaller and more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. The Moto Lita adapter is rather big and bulky (Moto Lita wheel with adapter installed).

I used one like this:https://www.ebay.com/itm/12182621534...mis&media=COPY
I found that a 350mm wheel was too small. A 360mm works well. I had a similar issue when I converted to a manual. I ended up using an additional 1" spacer to get the wheel out far enough. I'm 6'5", and I have the seat all the way back, so i have the steering column adjustment as far out as I can get it.

no issues with stock wheel. Its too large and thin for my taste but is not so large that it affects clutching.
