Default Swaybar bushing confusion

I found a pair of poly sway bar bushings in my old "parts box" that are marked XJ6. They are 7/8th". Checking thru old threads, there seems to be confusion for face-lift convertible sway bar bushing sizes. Can anyone clarify?
Thx in advance....

There were different diameter bars for 6 and V12, then different markets got odd things also.

I would simply reach down and measure the diameter of the bar on the car, then there is NO confusion, and you know what is on YOUR car.

I have come across 19 21 22mm bars over the years.

You're right. I was being lazy. Crazy that Jaguar equips cars with different things, depending on market and when it rolls thru the line.
Thx for reply!

That's what you get when your car is "hand assembled".

Now, everything is computerized, back then, whatever someone carted over was what could have gone.

Don't forget the sportpack option as well, that had larger bars both front and rear.

Dont pick on Jaguar too much.

GM down here, Commodore (Google is your friend) had 6 different diam bars, and there was NO rhyme or reason for it.
Ford, AKA Falcon, had 4, mainly 6 or V8, but never accurate.
Toyota were bad on some models.

This is why I keep a book/bible on every Jag since 1968, of what is on THAT car. Saves a lot of Beer time in the future when parts are needed.

And then on the late cars Jaguar left the front bar standard and stopped fitting a rear bar at all, whether Sportspack or not!

Thx for confirming my suspicions. As further evidence, my car is VIN tagged Jan '93. Explain the inboard rear brakes please, LOL, along with '92 side markers.

AHA, you be over there, and they did some weird stuff with Imports.

I, and ALL Parts Suppliers, ALWAYS relate to actual BUILD DATE. AKA, the date it came OFF the line.

Yours is POSSIBLY a late 1992 with near on the last of the Inboard system.

My X Type is a Dec 09 BUILD, and they stopped making them on Dec 17 2009, so close to the last car I suggest. Known down here as a 2010 ModelYear. Looking for parts, and enter 2010, "NO Parts Found", change to 2009, Bingo.
My sister, looooong time ago had a Renault Fuego, and it was referred to as a 1986 Model. They stopped making them in 1984, nobody wanted them, and the Australian stock sat in a holding compound for 2+ years, and they were dated when they left that compound, kind of dumb really, but that is what can happen.,
Getting parts for a 1987 car that does not exist is not easy. I eventually got through to her to always ask for 1984 year parts, the stress stopped.
In all my 55 years in Auto Spare Parts, BUILD DATE was the key, NOT Model Year. The Parts books were all BUILD DATE related, as they had no idea when the car concerned was made Politically Correct for that market, AKA Bond Yard clearance etc etc. VIN is now a key for up to and after, but Build Date is still used very widely.

Someone in your market will explain the odd Vin system, and hopefully de-mystify your car. I have read it a while back, but since I am down here, had no real interest to me.
