Default Thermo fan switch

Is it feasible to put the thermo fan switch in the top hose instead of where it is in front or water pump. As in picture

It is Rex, and in my efforts to control the fans when I first started with electric I tried it. The downside I found is that the top hose gives a less reliable temperature signal that the bottom hose does. I feel that the temp of the water going IN to the engine is more important for fan control than the water coming out. It also fluctuates far less and you get less liklihoood of the fans cycling more than is desirerable. It was very difficult, if not impossible to find a good setting for the controller.
Then I installed Grant's system and no more problems!

Anything can be done, but I wouild not, to unreliable.

Top hose sensing is not as stable as bottom hose sensing, hence all thermo fan sensors have been in the bottom hose area since the 70's, across many brands of vehicles.
