Default Lower temp thermo switch - Aux fan worth it?

Lower temp thermo switch - Aux fan worth it?
Found one 22mm x 1.5mm
82C / 72C

Any good with a new Aux fan - 1500CFM.

The idea sounds good to me.

I'd rather not rely on the switch, just have mine wired to come on with the ignition. If yours needs replacing then it wont hurt to come on earlier, but if your cooling system is still going to be adjusted to your tstat, assuming all else is working properly.

Thermo switch is nice, but what is nicer in a dash toggle (in the E-type style if you prefer) functioning as on/off for the Aux, what I was going to do with mine was include a 10-minute shut-off timer but it would of taken too long to ship the device, and opted for a direct on/off switch to bypass the thermo switch as it wasn't worth dumping my coolant to fix.

the aux fan switch on my xjs doesn't come on till around 220, a aux fan switch that comes on a bit lower would be beneficial. i would pick a fan switch that comes on 10 degrees above your thermostat opening temperature.

i am not running a mechanical fan on mine, just dual big electric fans, i was switching it on a temp switch but ended up wiring the relay to key on power. because without the mechanical fan under hood temps were really hot without some air movement from the fans, ill probably switch it up again and run 1 fan on key on and switch the other one.

My aux fan come on at 88-90ºC. Frankly I find it annoying. It's not needed at that point; that's 'normal' running temperature. I'm guessing my switch is out-of-spec as I'm nearly positive it should be something like 94ºC

Cheers

I don't think it's a good idea to have the aux fan come on at that low a temperature. The quicker the engine comes up to temperature the less engine wear. Normal operating temperature is 90-105°C and as long as the engine does not boil it can be higher.

I have dual eFans RH is set to come on with ignition and the LH is wired as per the original aux. For the most part my LH fan rarely runs unless I am in stop start traffic.
