Thermostat Jiggle Valve

Default Thermostat Jiggle Valve

Still having problems with the bleeding of the system, which position should the Jiggle Valve be in on the Thermostat, would drilling a bigger hole help?

I thought that the six cylinder engines were all self bleeding. If you have a thermostat with the jiggle pin, it should be positioned at 12 o'clock.

I remove those pins, and just have the hole, V12 or 6, same, same.

Check the small hoses that enable bleeding, they can and do, clog up due to lousy coolant spec under a PO.

Hi Grant I will try removing the pins. The system should self bleed but i have to remove a small pipe to fill it even though the small pipes are clean and clear

What? That's not making sense to me...can you share a pic of the hose you need to remove?

Any of the small hoses then the water fills up the system, the temp gauge is always below normal. When everything has cooled down and cold the Header tank is full to the top of the neck so if i remove any small hose water drains into the engine

Jaguar xjs 3.6 I was sold a thermostat housing from a V12 saying it was indentical, needed a blanking plate though, I notice the jiggle valve is before the Tee for the small bore bleed pipe on my original housing, the V12 jiggle valve is after the tee therefore only acting on one of the pipes, my question is how much difference will this make to bleeding the sysstem
