Timing Pointer

I took my XJS V12 6.0 for a smog check and the mechanic couldn't locate the timing pointer is there anyone who can tell me where it is please.

It is on the bottom at 6:00 O'Clock and can only be seen from the bottom. If the car is on a lift, it is not too bad to see. If the car is on a jack or ramp, it can be very hard to see and read....especially with the car running at 3000 rpm. Mine is a 5.3 but I assume the 6.0 is the same.

Yep.

The 6ltr pointer is at the bottom, and the 2 bolts that secure it, also secure the Crank Position Sensor, so it will be easy to see, NOT. You could maybe feel it easier than see it.
