Top up or down?
Hi everyone,
As a recent new member and purchaser of a 95 xjs convertible, I was wondering what everyones opinion is on storing the vehicle in a garage with a car cover over it, (stored in a fairly warm climate, Phoenix, Arizona).
Should I leave the top up, i.e. in place and taught, or should it be left down and folded away?
The top is in excellent condition, so obviously I would like to keep it that way.
Any thoughts and experiences from fellow members would be greatly appreciated.

I would think you'd want to store it up and clipped in.
I hardly ever have the top on mine up, and tend to only drive on "convertible days", as a consequence there are fold marks/wear on the headliner from it being folded up most of the time.

The top should always be up for any long term storage.
As Mac Allan said, keeping the top down will result in creases and wrinkles. Also, the material will shrink when the top is down and could be an issue when you try to put the top back up.

Thanks guys, that was my thoughts.
When I use the vehicle it will almost certainly be down so, I thought, that during longer term storage it would decrease the chances of creases/wrinkles etc.storing it in the up position and clipped in as you have indicated.
Many thanks for your input.
