Default Turning off security flasher

I need to disable the security flashers, they flash non stop whenever I park car and will drain battery enough so it doesn’t start. Don’t know how else to turn them off, 91 XJS V12.

It should not drain battery. I used to work away for 4+ weeks at a time and my car would fire up in the dead of winter no issue.

You probably have another drain on the system...disconnect radio then retest.

Are you asking about the emergency flashers or the LED on the cigar lighter bezel?
The LED should never cause a drained battery,
Emergency flashers will definitely kill it.

The little icon on dash and all the blinkers flash about every 5 seconds when ignition is off, very little flash but besides draining battery it’s annoying.

Open up the radio and snip the wire? Or maybe see if its unpluggable.

What does the radio have to do with the indicators blinking ?? sounds like an alarm module problem or key fob..

Sorry my bad...you are correct. sounds like he means the red LED on the radio and the red alarm LED. I have a 91 facelift and l cant leave it for anything like 2 weeks without a battery tender.

When you turn off the motor, and exit the car - do you use the fob (check the battery) to lock the car? If so, the blinking lights are a sign that the security system is armed. If they continue blinking, then it is one of the fuses connected with the security system. Check the 3 fuses in the trunk. Right side panel. Check the fuse box under the passenger side dashboard. Your radio, antenna, door module controller, cigar lighter are NOT the cause. The issue is the security system. I have a 93 XJS. Went through 4 batteries. Removed the entire security system. Good luck. I'll check back. .
