Cheers V12. Haven't got my Harrison in yet, so I would have noticed it later... Though it is the same way as it was before I removed it...

The bearing does not seem to have any slack. Everything is smooth and tight as it should be. Hopefully no issues as I go forward. Way too cold here right now to do anything on the car but that won't last very much longer.

I ran the parts through media blasting last weekend to clean everything up. Fresh coat of black paint on the brackets and pulley. The idler arm is a fresh aluminum appearance again.

Angry

Well nothing last forever.

Made a trip to the junk yard yesterday looking for the two '88 XJS's to pull a few parts from including:

Transducer x 2 (first choice to replace the one on my '87 with the flaky speedo)
Water pump: always nice to have a spare
Alternator: spare
blower motors L/R: spares
AAV: Spare

After wandering around for a bit and not seeing them where they last were I went back to the office and asked. I was told that they both went to the crusher a few weeks ago. Damn. I did get many good parts off of them but there was some meat left. Sure wish they had left them alone. These two were right in my own backyard, less than 10 miles from my house.

If the weather stays nice this weekend I hope to begin taking the anti-smog air pump plumbing off my car and installing the idler pulley assembly and air tube plugs I got from England a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the end is in sight.
