Default under hood fuse box

I have a small problem with the fuse box as pictured when I changed the fuses the other day to 4 over the brass holders pushed straight out the bottom, is there a spade fuse type that will directly replace this old glass fuse type

Forgive me,,, but I'm not sure what you mean, exactly. Could be because I've never seen these type fuses and it's different than my MYear...

Rex
I think you will have to buy an aftermarket fuse box and fit it. The problem being attaching the loom to it, as there is no spare length under it to work with, so there would be a bit of joining etc etc required. If you want to keep the OREM look, then I reckon you could gut an aftermarket one and fit it into the OEM holder. I recently tarted up my electric fan wiring, and this is what I fitted for the various fuses:

Would it be easier to try to find glass type fuses instead of rewiring?

Might be easier to repair the existing fuse box? Just a thought.

Another thought:

For (USA) 1988 model year Jaguar dumped the glass fuses and went modern. I'll wager a fusebox from a later car would drop right into place, eliminating at least any mounting issues. Plus the wire colors and fuse locations would probably be the same.

Cheers

OOPS, mine did that 20+ years ago, and since I was renewing ALL the headlamp wiring, and adding relays for them, at the time, i went with thermal circuit breakers, and simply combined some circuits on the one breaker.

This is the only snap I have, and I made an alloy cover, powder coated and fixed with the 2 OE bolts.

Never went in there again.
