Unknown red light near shifter
Hi all, I recently bought a 1985 XJS and ran into a question that my shop manual couldn't answer. There's a red light just in front of the shifter in the center of the panel. I looked for diagrams but nothing I have shows it or talks about it.
The car has been converted to a Chevy engine and transmission, so I'm starting to think it's part of that. The light comes on sometimes after driving for a while (usually around +10 minutes) and stays on until the car is turned off.
Any ideas?

I'll grab a picture in a little bit here, but its just an unmarked red light right in front center of that panel with the shifter. Maybe I'll take the panel off and see if I can get any idea from that.
Agree with Greg. I have a nice blue one for the same purpose.....you can see it here between the gauges

blue meaning cool...... everything is good, everything is ok.... we're not going to overheat..... hopefully
