Will I ever learn?? Got the XJS 95% sorted. I haven't been posting for awhile, since I have been cruising around all summer loving life in my gorgeous car! Stopped at a stoplight yesterday, and a fella in a pick up asked "what do you do to get the money to afford such a beautiful car?" Ha! I didn't tell him that I bought it for $3K, and maybe put another $2K into it. Instead, I just smiled and said "one day, you can grow up to be just like me". And then the light turned and I let him experience the growl of my perfectly tuned cat.

So, the signature update... Since I have mostly run out of things to do on my Jag (for now, anyway), I bought an MG in need of serious attention. My wife has always wanted one, and I needed something fun to do on the weekends. Working on the MG is like working on a moped, except even less complicated :-). A nice change from the frustrations of Jag repair.

Anyhoo, wish me luck. Still following this forum every day. And after the MG is done, I think I'm gonna go looking for a sweet XJR for my next one. Happy motoring!

You could always try the Triumph stag as a "project" ...I've got half way through getting one of mine done.( bought it in 1990, so has taken a little time. lol). Parts are easy to get(ish)

I always fancied the Stag, great looking car that was very cool back in the day

The Midget......... not so much But easy to work on if you can find one that isn't a complete rust bucket!!!

Cheers,

Allan

Doug,
Love your old midget. I'm going to see about getting the chrome bumpers on mine, so I can get rid of the god awful rubber bumpers.

As far as the midget rust concerns... Uh yeah. I had to weld in completely new floor pans. Good news is that they were just $49 each. I also replaced the brake master cylinder and all new brake lines all around. Grand total $80. After spending ridiculous prices on the tiniest parts for the jag, the MG aftermarket is a breath of fresh air.

Of course, you get what you pay for. My MG is a glorified go-kart. My Jag is a timeless work of art!

And my Mercedes is the most comfortable, well built, refined car I have ever been in. Not to mention, since it is the Bluetec, it gets 44mpg and is a torque MONSTER! I am really loving my current collection of cars.
