I'm not against the idea of improving the performance of our cars. I just don't care to make more noise for no real reason. Yeah, I'm an old man! I rode Harleys for over 25 years. Made plenty of noise in those days but by my last bike I had switched to a collector type exhaust that was effective but pretty quiet. Had Magnaflows on my '92 300ZX and Flowmasters on my '96 Mustang GT. In my XJ6 I'd rather just slip silently through traffic like a freeway Ninja! Gonna keep my XJS quiet too.

 

I think I'm in Rivguy's camp, not wanting to make noise for no reason, but I enjoy the thought of a little fuller song at full throttle.

Exhaust has been something I've been agonizing over for far too long, and I think this is the year I get it done. I'm planning on replacing the silencers and deleting the resonators.

I'm undecided on a cross pipe. I know there's some good arguments about leaving it alone, but I'm going to at least consider it if I encounter too much drone.
